Library 2.0 Websites: Where to Begin

This is a posting at Blyberg.net that caught my eye at del.icio.us this morning. So I saved it and decided to let the rest of you in on it. The reason it's so interesting to me is, of course, that we are in the middle of the 'redesign.' You know, the thing that happens without much input from us down here in the trenches?

We did have a meeting with the web design team that was hired. Of course, that team has never designed a library website before. Of course, the person heading the library's team doesn't work with the public at all. That person's sits in the administration suite upstairs. And in this meeting, when I dared to question an assumption she had made, what did she say? That I was also making an assumption. Duh. Yeah, based on EXPERIENCE. Can you tell I'm frustrated?

Read John Blyberg's blog. It's inspiring. Maybe we can look at that stuff the next time around.

Yeah. Right.
